Babies are born into families with many different needs. I offer practical and emotional support, and nurturing care, as you prepare to have a GOODBIRTH whatever kind of birth it may be. I offer non-medical, non-biased support and evidence based information through pregnancy, birth and early postpartum.

As a former Midwife and Nursery Nurse I have over 30 years of experience working with parents, babies and new parents, and I am comfortable supporting births at home, hospital or in theatre.

You are entering a Birth labyrinth, and I believe that you should feel safe, respected and in control of decisions that you make for yourself at this time. A labyrinth is often defined as 'a continuous path to the centre and out again, a symbol of transformation'. Think of me as a reliable, supportive presence and source of honest information, while you navigate this path to being a parent or expanding your family.​

​My aim is to support and encourage parents-to-be to empower themselves and to feel confident to make their own choices. I have always believed that birth is a natural process, if we are able to access our own innate resources and instincts, without unnecessary disturbance. There can also be circumstances which may change the direction of labour, and some knowledge of physiology and birthing wisdom can provide support to navigate these. This is of course not always possible, especially when there are medical or other factors to consider, and some pregnancies and births are more complex, welcoming obstetric support. I can provide the continuity of care, that sometimes is unfortunately not able to be given within the NHS, due to work load or other pressures on the current Maternity services. I work alongside (not replacing or against) your Midwives and Maternity team, with you at the centre, and I will support your birth preferences and choices.

My Doula practice weaves science with traditional birth keeping, acknowledging nature's seasonal and lunar cycles. Some births are primal, some calm, or wild, and all are unpredictable and unique.
